Over 20 Olympic champions, trainers and other international athletes have endorsed a letter calling for a halt to the capital punishment of a boxing titleholder and instructor, who is facing execution in the country.

Escalating Global Anger

Amidst increasing international outrage over the country's increasing application of capital punishment as a means of oppression, the forcefully phrased statement censures the government's ruling to uphold the execution order of Mohammad Javad Vafaei Sani.
